Ipadio.com, Phlogging Saves Time and Is Effective

Posted on 22 October 2009 by jasonverdelli

So I am going to start off this blog post by asking, do you know what “Phlogging” is? I would venture to guess that most of you out there do not. Taking into consideration the evolutionary nature of the web, “Phlogging” hasn’t really hit mainstream internet communication. You may be asking what the heck is “Phlogging”. Essentially Phlogging simply means blogging with your phone. It is when you can call a phone number and the “Phlog” provider takes your audio recording and puts it in a player and transforms your spoken words into text. Sounds kind of complicated right?

Well, a company of out of the UK called Nemysis perfected the way of Phlogging with the development of ipadio.com. Ipadio.com allows you to create an account for free and essentially setup your very own Phlog. Once you create your account you will be supplied with a phone number and a call-in passcode that you use when you are ready to do a Phlog post, in other words, instead of writing a blog post you can put it into spoken words. Once you finish recording your post you ipadio.com saves your show and puts it into your library of Phlog posts. Ipadio.com teamed up with Spinvox, a voice to text service, to take the spoken words and put them into text. Surprisingly Spinvox is very accurate when it comes to matching the spoken words with what it puts out via text. If the text is incorrect ipadio.com gives you the ability to edit it.

Ipadio also has channel player that you can embed on your website or blog that will store all of your shows so viewers to your website or blog can listen easily without having to click onto different pages to get there. Ipadio.com even automatically sends updates out to Twitter and Facebook once you complete a Phlog post so peole that are following you can listen in. What a time saver…

The other great aspect of ipadio.com is the way the major search engines pick up on the posts. There are many reasons behind this, but because ipadio.com integrates the speech to text into each Phlog post, it allows the search engines to now pick up on the actual content so now your Phlog posts will start indexing when people go to search for something that you “Phlogged” about. Nemisys developed ipadio.com mainly for sectors such as non-profits and government to develop more efficient communications.

Ipadio.com currently provides the Phlogging service for free. They do have other services such as a service that allows your sales team to call into a number and enter commands to speed up processes. Other additional services include integration of the ipadio.com concept into radio station productions, data collection, disability services and much more. I must say ipadio.com ranks right up there with some of my favorite websites such as eyejot.com. These are the kind of services that are free, however even if you had to pay a few bucks for additional integration, its well worth the money. By the way for you iphone users out there, Ipadio has a free application that makes it even easier to create Phlog posts. Lastly, ipadio.com also allows you to do live audio so listeners on your website or blog can listen in real time.

Enough said, get out there and get yourself a Phlog at ipadio.com. In the future I will be posting new articles on some different ways to use ipadio.com and Phlogging withing the context of strategic usage. With that said, happy Phlogging.
